How to send and receive an eFax
Sending an eFax
Sending and receiving an eFax is done entirely in Outlook. Below are the steps to send an eFax.
- In outlook, start a new email.
- In the new email message, click "Options" along the top, then click the "From" button. We will need the FROM field to be able to send emails as the billing fax account.
- Click on the FROM field now, then select "Other email address...".
- In the window that pops up, type in the following email address and hit ok: billingfax@proems.com
- Now, we need to enter the fax number in the TO field. First, you need to put a 1 in front of the number. If the number is 617-682-1826, you will enter 16176821826. Since this is email, we need to also include the rest of the email address. After the phone number, put @efaxsendsecure.com. The full email address will look like this:
16176821826@efaxsendsecure.com
- After we have filled in the TO field, we need to fill out the SUBJECT and BODY fields (or not fill them out). The SUBJECT and BODY fields will be sent as a cover page. If you need call ATTN to a certain person, put ATTN: Mike Dula in the subject field, then you can use the BODY field to provide any additional information about what you're sending. Again, info entered into the SUBJECT or BODY fields of the email will be sent as a COVER PAGE.
- The last thing to do before sending the email is Attaching the document you wish to fax to the email. To attach your document, just click on the "Message" tab along the top, then click on "Attach File", then browse to your file. Any file you attach to the email will be sent as a separate page or pages of the fax. Supported attachments are PDFs, most picture files, Word docs, etc...
- Once you have attached your file, make sure all your fields are filled out correctly and completely. Once you are sure everything is filled out, go ahead and send it.
Receiving an eFax
Receiving an eFax is as easy as giving someone the fax number (6175880624) and waiting for an email. To see if a fax has arrived, please see the steps below.
***NOTE: This is a shared mailbox, so the faxes that arrive in it may not necessarily be for you. If the fax is not for you please leave it alone. If the fax was for you and you have downloaded or read the fax and no longer need it, you may delete the fax or move it to the archive folder. ***
-
In Outlook, the left most pane contains your folder list. You will need to scroll down most likely to the bottom till you see the "Billing Fax (6175880624)" mailbox.
-
When you click into the Inbox of this mailbox, this will be where all the faxes are delivered to.
- That's it! From the picture above, you can see all the faxes and when they arrived. Each fax will have a PDF attached. The PDF will contain the contents of what was faxed to you.
