Unable to Complete Call in Tablet PCR

Modified on: Mon, 9 Jan 2023 10:37 AM

There are numerous potential reasons why a crew may be unable to complete a call in Tablet PCR.

Problems with a Closed Call Rule or State Rule

It is possible that a PCR requires manual intervention from Pro EMS to complete. If you are unable to complete a PCR, we only require 2 things to investigate:

  1. The Run Number(s) of any PCR(s) that you are unable to complete.
  2. Upload the incomplete PCR to the server for support to troubleshoot.

Additional Reasons for Being Unable to Complete Calls

Validation Required on Manually Created PCRs

A PCR that is not created by Dispatch will need to be merged with a dispatched copy. It is not possible to complete a manually created PCR.

Internet Connectivity

The device in question needs a stable internet connection in order to communicate with the Tablet PCR Server. You can test internet by opening a web browser and navigating to a website like yahoo.com or msn.com.

Tablet PCR Connectivity

Tablet PCR needs to show a green + icon next to the globe symbol:

This indicates the computer is able to talk to the PCR Server. A given crew can only be logged into one instance of Tablet PCR. If you are logged into multiple Tablet PCR sessions, you will need to first log out of Tablet PCR elsewhere.

Pending PCR Updates

Tablet PCR is frequently being updated behind the scenes with additional crew members, and new closed call rules. It is important that computers be regularly turned on and connected to internet in order to receive these updates.

Symptoms of PCR Update backlog

  1. Missing Crew Members: A crew member may show on another computer but not on the computer they are attempting to log into.
  2. NEMSIS & Submission Errors: A computer may be missing PCR ruleset updates resulting in being unable to complete a call.
