Barracuda Networks' Email Gateway Defense Quarantine Notification
You may have seen an email (or several) about Barracuda Quarantine Notifications. We enabled this to give everyone visibility into emails that are being blocked that they may not know about. Currently you are not able to deliver the email yourself - this could change in the future. You will need to open a support ticket and ask us to deliver the message and/or add the sender to the allow list. You CAN add a sender to the block list yourself - just note that it is a personal block list and won't affect others. If you feel it should be blocked for everyone, let us know with a support ticket.
This article will go over how to login, how to see the list of blocked messages, and how to add a sender to the block list.
Note - We have two tiers of email protection and thus two separate Quarantines. Barracuda is the first tier and Microsoft 365 (Outlook) is the second tier. An email can be blocked in either or both tiers.
Login to view your Quarantined Messages
- You will probably have received a message similar to the following. To login, you can click on the Manage Quarantine or View Message Log buttons.
- Once you click either of those buttons, it will bring you to a login screen. If you receive very few of these or check it infrequently, choose to Email me a temporary passcode. If you think you may be accessing this frequently, it might be better to create an account.
- After a minute or so, you should receive another email from Barracuda containing a temporary passcode, just enter that (copy and paste) into the box and hit Sign In.
- Once you're logged in, you should see a list of any messages that were quarantined. Along the top there is also a filter and you can see emails up to 1 month in the past. There is also a search box to make it easier to find certain emails.
How to add a message to the block list
- Once you're logged in and have found an email you would like to add to the block list, put a check mark in the item, then hit the little menu button to the right, then click either Add Sender Email to Block list or Add Sender Domain to Block List.
